Holy shit. Mind blown each time I hear this. Craziest range.
I don’t really like how he holds out the “Paparazzi”, but if you haven’t heard this you should. Greyson Chance is a talented kid.
Quick Recap: The CNS (the dorsal cavity, the cranial cavity, and the spinal cavity) controls the actions of all multicellular animals (except sponges, etc.). The majority of the nervous system is contained within the CNS, including the brain, the spinal cord, and the retina. I brought this up because there are responsive behaviors and planned behaviors and the entire CNS is necessary for physical/mental coordination. *Note that there is also the peripheral nervous system.
Okay, I know this sounds silly, but before this year..I never realized why we have the ability to make decisions while other organisms are lacking in some aspects. I’m not completely sure if I want scientists to (somehow) prove that human thought is caused by a series of chemical/electrical synapses (I kind of like the idea that it’s just unsolved and unknown), but it is still interesting. Anyways… The idea here is that our brain has more surface area than that of an animal and that extra surface area leaves more room for more diverse functions.
I just never thought of my daily actions as chemical synaptic transmissions.
So, I thought this was kind of interesting. At the University of Rochester it seems that the scientists there have discovered a gene that prevents teeth to be regrown in mammals. If this gene can be removed it might be possible for humans to regrow teeth as adults.
